It was with tremendous relief that Savannah changed out of her school robes and into something a little more comfortable. She was extremely relaxed now that classes were through for the day, and she had completed all of her homework. It was only Wednesday but Vannah was a good student, and she took her work very seriously. She was used to getting good marks, she worked to achieve them…the hat could sense that about her, obviously. Studious as she was, even Savannah was relieved when a break from school and homework came about, she loved to just kick back and relax. Usually she could be found down by the lake, reading a book of her choosing –her favorite had come to be muggle novels that her mother found a fondness in over the years- or else she was brushing up on her quidditch skills, seeing that she was on the quidditch team for Ravenclaw. Since her first time venturing into Diagon Alley with her mum and sister Savannah had a fondness for broomsticks and flying, which lead to her joining the team her second year of school. Vannah unbuttoned the white blouse that was hidden beneath her Ravenclaw robes and shrugged it off once she was finished. She showed no concern when her blouse hit the ground, somehow everything always managed to get cleaned and put where they belonged every day. Savannah wasn’t absolutely sure how it happened but it did, she presumed that it was just another one of the magical qualities about Hogwarts; therefore she never put much thought to it. Topless, Savannah rummaged through her trunk and pulled up a black sequined shirt and pulled it on over her head. Sitting on her bed, she kicked off her shoes and tights then kicked them aside. It was untidy but that was just how Savannah got to be at times, a little bit lazy. She pulled her skirt off of her, glad to be out of the horrid thing, she was always afraid that she would fall and everyone would get a peek at her knickers. For that fear, she didn’t understand why girls had to wear the blasted things. Grabbing a pair of her preferred shorts, she pulled those on and buttoned them. Her parents didn’t really appreciate her wearing those things but they let her get away with it for relaxation purposes. She put on a pair of her new shoes that she got as a gift before school started. Fully clothed now, Savannah excited the fourth year Ravenclaw dormitory and then the common room completely. There were a few more hours before they had to be in the great hall for supper and soon after, bed. Savannah could not wait until it was time to eat but she was even more excited at the idea of lying down in her comfortable four-poster bed. Just the thought of it had Savannah’s body longing for bed, with her extra fluffed pillows to rest her head on. She shook her head to prevent herself from getting even more tired than she already was as she walked through the towers. As she passed the Astronomy Tower she saw that it was closed and probably locked, so much for using the telescopes there and looking at the stars. It was a habit she had formed since her first year at Hogwarts and now was somewhat of a tradition. Completely avoiding the path that would lead her towards the Owlery –she hated the smell of so many owls in one area- she went to the last place that she knew of where she’d be able to get her desired view. There was an empty tower that was once used for Astronomy lessons, now it was just there, empty and forgotten. Well, not entirely, she was almost positive that several of the older students used it for private snogging sessions. Realizing that this was probably her best destination, Savannah went in that direction and made her way up the stairs to what was the highest tower at Hogwarts. At the top of the steps, she pushed the large wooden door open and went inside. It was dusty, there was no denying that fact but it still had a welcoming feel about it, it was familiar and it was safe. Vannah remembered hiding out there a few years ago when some older Slytherins were looking for her and another friend of hers. Luckily the head girl of that time found her before they did and served as protection. The memory of how much trouble those particular snakes had gotten into brought a smile to Savannah’s face; it served them right, terrorizing younger students like that. It was downright rude to have done. All memories aside, Savannah muttered a simple spell and waved her wand, the dust cleared from the window sill, making it fine for Vannah to lean over it. She did so, looking up at the brilliant night sky where the stars were shining high above her. They twinkled and sparkled amazingly and it increased Vannah’s longing to be amongst them. The brightest star caught her attention and it reminded Savannah of a sort of poem that her great-grandmother (on her father’s side) used to tell her. She was so entranced by the beauty of the night sky that she hadn’t heard when someone else entered the tower. 896 words for anyone. wearing this. muse is okay. |
