July. 7, 1979
Savannah was fast asleep when she heard her mother, Lauren Harris, calling for her at the door. "Savannah Marie, it's nearly noon, rise and shine." she sat up straight in her bed and looked over at the calender laying on her nightstand. It was the seventh of July, and Savannah was excited about that. Her friend Addison would be staying over for a few nights, due to her Great-Aunt Suzy being there. Savannah never met the woman but with how Addy made her sound, Savannah didn't think she would like her very much. She heard her mother knock twice on her door and she said "I'm up, I'm up." before she rushed around her room picking out her outfit for the day. Normally Savannah would have had her clothing picked out the night before but she fell asleep trying to finish the Charms homework that Professor Flitwick had given them for the summer. Not only hadn't she finished charms but she had at least four more classes that she had to do homework for.
Making a mental note for herself to be more organized over the next month and two weeks, Savannah found up everything she planned on wearing which included a pair of grey tight pants, a black Ravenclaw shirt, her Ravenclaw tie which was part of her school attire, and flat, bright red shoes. She knew that Addison would insist on her changing but Savannah like it, it was different and stood out to people, kind of like her hair. Though, it would be hard to explain to the muggles in their neighborhood what Ravenclaw was. Having found up all of her clothes Savannah left her bedroom and went into the bathroom she shared with her elder sister Edith for a quick bath. She took her time as she didn't expect Addison for another three hours or so. Once she was clean and her hair was washed, Savannah grabbed her charms homework from her bed and went down to the living room where her family was.
Grabbing a spot on the floor Savannah saw that her father was watching some sort of infomercial. Never being able to understand why her dad watched such boring things, Savannah returned once more to her Charms assignment. She had one more roll of parchment to go and then she would be finished with that homework. Just as she was scribbling away at her parchment she saw her glasses dangling in her face. She looked up into her mothers face who had a serious look on at the moment, seriousness in her voice she told her daughter "Your doctor said you need to wear theses for your eyes. Put them on or you'll end up blind." Rolling her eyes Savannah took her glasses and put them on, which made seeing a whole lot easier but Savannah still didn't like wearing glasses. They just didn't look right on her.
Lauren was a witch too, so she Savannah didn't understand why she of all people was so insistent on doctors orders. What did she know about doctors to begin with? If anyone should have been so strict about it that would be her father, he was the muggle of the family after all. One her mother had returned to whatever she had been doing, Savannah turned her focus back to her homework...hoping that Addison would show up soon.

Addison had awoken that morning with an early start, she wanted to have everything she needed for spending the weekend with Savannah. Should she have been staying home while her Aunt Suzy was there? Absolutely! But that didn't mean she was going to. You see, she literally hated that woman and would take whatever chance she had to escape spending "quality time" with her. Naturally Jenna was pretty pissed that her sister was skipping out on her, Addison tried to apologize time and time again. She assured her twin that she would return home Sunday night as she finished packing. It didn't seem that Jenna completely forgave her but she certainly made getting ready to go a lot easier than she previously had been. It was moments like this that Addison wished she and Jenna had all of the same friends like they did when they were younger. Unfortunately that was back when Addison was hiding all of the odd things that seemed to happen around her, back before she knew that she was a witch.
Completely packed Addison then went on to take a bath, yes a bath. She relaxed in the tub while she did so, taking in the rose scented aroma that she put in the water. It was calming yet it made her want to sneeze, such a lovely combination. About twenty minutes later there was a knock on the bathroom door, "What?" Addison called, annoyed she was being disturbed during her personal time. It was her little sister, Kimy, telling her that their mother said that their Great-Aunt Suzy was going to be there in an hour. Addison knew that meant if she was leaving, then she better go soon because soon as Suzy was there then she would have no way out. "Okay, thank you Kimy." she said back, and soon heard the little pitter-patter of her youngest siblings feet walking away. It was with a tremendous effort that Addison got out of the bath tub and pulled the plug, draining all of the water, she really didn't want to get out yet. Damn Aunt-Suzy! Why did she have to come so early? On the plus side, Addison sure smelled great!
Addy quickly dressed and using her muggle items, curled her hair to perfection instead of leaving it wavy yet slightly lank. She was never too fond of her natural her and was prone to curling or straightening it. Double checking, Addison decided that she was content with her appearance. She said a quick goodbye to her family, and told them that she would definitely be home Sunday night/Monday afternoon at the latest. Jenna she felt bad for leaving behind yet it was Kimy she had to peel from around her waist. Kimy wanted her big sister to stay home, she always hated it when Addy left. It took a while for her to reassure the little four year old that she would be home in a few days time - it wasn't time for her to go to school yet. That taken care of Addison went on her broomstick and flew all the way to Savannah's. The flight was where she had to be extra careful. It wouldn't have been good if the muggles saw a young, blond girl flying on a broomstick in the middle of the day. No, Addison made sure that she pretty much remained up in the clouds. It got a little chilly up there but precautions needed to be taken to avoid exposure.
The feeling of flying was one that Addison truthfully missed. She missed the liberating feeling, the cool rush of the wind as it hit her face, and just the sense of being so far above the world she knew - literally. Everything looked so different way up high, a world that normally seemed so big was suddenly so small. An hour in Addison dipped down to see where she was, Savannah only lived about an hour from Addison so the journey was never hard on her. There! There it was, Savannah's house. Addy was so excited to see her best friend, it had seemed like forever that they had been together. Checking to make sure she could land without being spotted, Addison did just that. Once her broom was properly stored she walked up to the Harris' front door and knocked, waiting patiently for someone to answer.
((OOC: OMG THAT TOOK ME FOREVER, SORRY LUPITA. I'VE JUST BEEN REALLY BUSY LATELY, YOU KNOW THAT. IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN...I PROMISE.))

July. 7, 1979
Sav was trying to finish up her last bit of Charms homework, but between her mother talking to her sister and her fathers television program that was proving rather hard. With a sigh Savannah walked into the kitchen where she found her mother and sister "Mum, Edith...can you talk quietly? I'm trying to finish my homework." she asked pleadingly, her homework was important and she wanted to do her best. Respecting what she was asking both Lauren and Edith nodded "Thank you." Savannah said before she went back to the living room, laid on the floor and got back to her homework once more. It was much easier to concentrate now that the voices of her mother and sister could barely be heard now. The television was easier to drown out, seeing that Savannah wasn't the least bit interested in what her father was watching. It was quite boring actually.
Charms homework out of the way Savannah ran up to her room to grab her transfiguration homework -she desperately needed to get it done next- and put her charms assignment safely away. Figuring that she might finish transfiguration early, Sav grabbed her potions homework as well. Then she went to the living room again, sat down with her transfiguration homework and began working on that as well. What she had to do this time was review on conjuration/vanishment and then answer a series of questions about then, to be handed in their first lesson back. Professor Mcgonagall was a tough teacher but Savannah was pretty sure of herself in that class. She found herself becoming rather interested as she read silently, Conjuration is the art of conjuring things and hence is the opposite of vanishing... The conjuring part was easiest for her to get through while vanishing wasn't Savannah's exact talent. It still needed some improvement which she would certainly be working on once she returned to school in September.
The main thing in transfiguration that Savannah was looking forward to was human transfiguration. She had been doing some reading on it and it really caught her attention. Unfortunately for her, they didn't cover it until the sixth year. It was a disappointment but soon enough her time would come. Her reading had her deeply immersed but the minute she heard the doorbell ring she felt her stomach jump. Savannah knew that no one else in her house was expecting any visitors this afternoon so it could only be Addison. Before anyone else could even make their way to the door Savannah threw her quill down, jumped up, and ran to the door. Without a second of hesitation she opened it and saw her best friend, the Hufflepuff Addison standing. Even during summer vacation Addison looked gorgeous as ever, Savannah knew that Addy was more concerned with her looks than she. "Hey Addy," she said brightly with a smile, happy to see her best friend "Come on in." Savannah opened the door more for her to come into the house.

The door swung open and Addison was thankful that she didn't have to wait very long. It was hot outside of the clouds, and Addy wasn't about to start sweating. Sweating was gross. Savannah told her to come in, Addison didn't have to be told twice. Dragging her weekend bags and broomstick in with her, Addison walked out of the sweltering heat and into the nice, cool house. Setting her bags down and propping her broom against the wall, Addy looked around at the house "Thank you Sav." she said, truthfully happy to be here, a place that was warm and welcoming. It was her first weekend staying at Savannah's house and she had never met the girls parents before, she had to admit to being a little nervous.
Choosing to ignore her nervousness, Addison turned to the small redhead standing next to her "Let me see you," she began examining Savannah from head to toe. As always, she loved the color of her best friends hair, not many people could pull off such a bright shade of red. Addy loved having an individual for such a great friend. Her shirt and tie were for her house, Addison loved the house pride that her friend was showing, even if she was a Hufflepuff herself. Pride was a good thing to have, as long as you didn't take that "pride" to an extreme. Her pants were cute but they didn't really go with her shirt or tie, that factor didn't really matter. What had caught Addison's eye were the bright red, flat shoes that caught her eye. They so did not match her outfit, it made it all look horrible.
Addison hated when shoes did not coordinate with the rest of an outfit, it just looked so tacky to her "Savannah Marie, what's on your feet?" she asked in disgust. It was a disaster! Now if there had been red somewhere in the Ravenclaw girls ensemble there wouldn't have been a problem. As the outfit clashed horribly, there was a huge problem. It was one that Addison planned on fixing, either with ease or by force. Addy visibly gagged at the fashion disaster, she knew that Savannah knew how to dress better.
((I LOVE YOUR GIRLS, THEY'RE PRECIOUS. SORRY IT'S SO SHORT AND TOOK A WHILE.))

July. 7, 1979
Savannah was pleased when Addy stepped inside; the hot air coming from outside the house was disturbing the cool air inside. It was cool inside and the entire Harris family wanted it to stay that way. Once Addison and her bags were safely in Savannah closed the door and shook her head when her friend thanked her “No need, I’m happy you’re here.” She said truthfully, this weekend was going to be much more entertaining than the weekends previous to it. Her best friend was there, how could she possibly be bored? It was nearly impossible; Addy was probably the least boring person she had ever met. From the living room Sav heard the tv blaring and her mother in the kitchen, probably doing the dishes. In a normal wizarding family these sounds would be considered odd, but Savannah was as happy that her family was not like them, not completely.
It was known throughout the household that the Harris family –excluding Edith and Savannah- had yet to meet Addison, and most people would have been nervous about meeting anyone’s parents for the first time. If Addy was nervous she wasn’t showing it at all, that was a trait that Savannah had yet to master. The girl was easily read, she was an open book. Instead of inquiring about the two people she was about to meet Addy merely told Savannah to let her see her. Rolling her eyes, Savannah spun around slowly, allowing her friend to scrutinize her entire wardrobe for the day. It wasn’t exactly cute but Savannah was confident about it and besides, it wasn’t as if she planned on leaving the house at all. It was just going to be a day around the house with the family, as all Friday’s were. That had never stopped Addison though, that girl was more concerned with what went on a person’s body than in it. The girl was her best friend but sometimes it really did get annoying.
After what seemed to be forever Addison, disgustedly, asked what kind of shoes she was wearing. Savannah looked down at her feet, sure they didn’t tie her outfit together but Sav didn’t see anything wrong with her red flats. They had been a gift her uncle Levi bought for her after the fact that she had turned her hair red. He also started calling her “Red” or “Little Red” for nicknames, it was only appropriate that she wore the shoes. She missed her Uncle Levi. She was just about to answer her friend question when, miraculously, her parents walked in to the main room where the two girls were talking. Her sister, Edith, was the first to say “Hey Addison.” As she ran up the stairs, to her bedroom. Probably to see if there was an owl from the Lovegood boy that Edith had grown so fond of. It was just like Edith to have a small crush on a boy from their house, older or younger than she.
How sad Savannah thought, her sister had a crush on a younger man. She had a funny feeling he didn’t feel the same but, life was a full of surprises. Now that her sister was no longer in her view Savannah turned back to face her parents and Addison “Mum, Dad, this is Addison Donally. She’s a friend of mine from school. she told them before going on to say ”Addy, This is my mum, Lauren,” she gestured to the dark haired woman standing closest to them “And my dad, Richard.” She finished, waving her hand towards the man farthest away from the two of them, with his hand resting gently on his wife’s waist.
