Gabriella had returned to the Ravenclaw Tower early that night. She was hoping to finish the last bit of homework that she needed to get done. Alex had tried to pull her out of the library but that didn’t work. A small smile started to play across her lips at the memory. No amount of begging or pleading would make her get up. When she had asked him about his homework Alex had replied that it was already done. With that knowing smile of his. It just made Gabby wondered how he had exactly done it and if his answers were right. She didn’t actually say anything out loud. She didn’t want to take the chance to see his expression when the question slipped out of her mouth. Instead she had threatened to make his life miserable if he kept on trying to push her further. Her tone had been serious but there was a sparkle in her eyes that told him that she was only half joking. Alex had taken the hint and left but not before wishing her good night. And a few hours ahead to, she thought with a shake of her head as she walked up the stairs to the girl’s dormitory, her arms full of books. She could feel the long day starting to affect her and she wanted to lay down early.
There were noises that were starting from the common room. People were starting to arrive from their day and Gabby knew it would be almost impossible to try to get some early sleep, despite it being only nine. She placed her books on her bed and pulled out her cloak with the Ravenclaw colors. She knew that Alex was probably going to be getting in late again. That never bothered her as much as it did before. She shook her head as she put it on and walked back downstairs, nodding to her fellow housemates that had waved to her. She walked out of the common room and down the corridor. She wondered what she would be able to do now since it was late into the evening hours. And then it hit her. Might as well take a stroll throughout the lawns. Gabriella shook her head at her thoughts as she slowly made her way out of the castle and onto the grounds. She bit down on the inside of her cheeks as she let herself get lost in her thoughts. Gabby and Alex were muggleborns. They had absolutely no idea they were magic. Although there were signs that they were. Making things hover in midair or glass exploding. She remembered when she was nine years old. The twins were having an argument and there was a glass on the kitchen counter. The next thing she knew it exploded.
Everyone had passed it off as a freak accident and nothing more. Gabby was very cautious for that next couple of weeks whenever she felt herself growing angry. She didn’t want to make anything explode again. Even though everyone had told her it wasn’t her fault. That it was probably something clear inside. She shook her head slightly again. There were numerous incidents that had occurred but she could never remembered them. She might end up having to talk to Alex about that either when she got back or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow, Gabby thought. Knowing him he would be passed out when she returned. The corners of her lips twitched upwards into a small smile. Her light grey eyes were twinkling. She pulled her cloak closer to her as she stepped out onto the Hogwarts lawns. She glanced up at the cloudy sky. The lawns looked creepy at night. I wonder what it would look like on a full moon, Gabby idly wondered to herself. A light wind ruffled passed her, slightly stirring her hair around. She pushed back a couple of strands of her brown hair out of her eyes. The trees swayed lightly in the wind.
Gabriella made little noise as she walked. The grass felt softer. It acted as a sort of cushion for her feet. She stared up at the sky every now and then, idly wondering to herself whether or not rain would come. She hoped so. Gabby was the person that loved thunderstorm and any kind of weather. Before she had found out that she was a witch, Gabby was interested in the weather. Her father had often told her about people who made their interest in weather their careers. She would often wonder if she would want to try something like that out when she was grown up. But now? The sixteen year old wanted to have a career as a Healer. Maybe not a Professional one. She wanted to work up at St. Mungo’s, having been there twice before but that was a whole different story. Gabby knew that was where she was headed. She was even taking the classes that a Healer would need at Hogwarts. She had it all planned out. Now Alex on the other hand…Gabriella sighed softly to herself. Her brother was very ambitious. He wanted to work in the Ministry. And with his personality? She asked herself with a weary smile as she sat down on a bench.
Gabriella was the quiet twin. She was always respectful and sometimes shy. Not to mention polite. Her brother was the complete opposite. He was the sarcastic one. The fun one. The party go-er and prankster. She would sometimes join him in his pranks if she had the time. The smile that was on her lips grew a little as she ran a hand through her hair. Her wand was in the pocket of her robes. Robes. Throughout her years at Hogwarts Gabby had managed to get used to wearing robes instead of just being in a T-shirt and jeans all year around. And then there was the bloody skirt that was part of the girl’s uniform. Never in her life had she worn a skirt unless she was required to. And unfortunaly she had to. It wasn’t as if she was actually complaining out loud though. The sixth year Ravenclaw sighed as she continued to stare up at the sky, lost in her thoughts.

YOUR REPUTATION’S GETTING OUT OF CONTROL IT MUST FEEL SO ALONE ALWAYS RUNNING AWAY FROM SOMEONE BUT YOU GET NOWHERE Kyle wasn't exactly the person that could be found roaming the grounds. Yes, he did love the outdoors, but that being said, he didn't roam. He walked with a purpose, and that was that. He knew that he sometimes did take his time walking slowly during the night around the grounds, when there was no one out there. Kyle hated being around too many people - he loved his solitary silence, and he loved when he could just...exist. No one was there to observe him, or see what he was doing. No one was there to irritate him, or bother him out of his peace. No one was there to try and proposition him. No stupid girls were trying to get his attention, even though he already had a girlfriend. No stupid boys were trying to be his best friend, even though he already had one. People were ridiculous. He'd been misanthropic his whole life, getting to know the people that he had to be around because of his last name. Coming to Hogwarts had only strengthened his belief in the fact that most human beings weren't worth his time or attention.
He had a lot on his mind. He always did. Kyle was a thinker - he was always thinking about something, or he always had something on his mind. It was a good thing, too - he didn't want to be as stupid as some of the other people in his own house. He snorted to himself. If thinking about every little thing kept him from turning into them, then he'd deal. But he'd always overthought things. He was too observant, and he picked up on too much. He was too perceptive, and he was too in tune with certain aspects of life. It wasn't his fault - his father was exactly the same way, except he acted so much colder than his son did. While Michale was exactly the same way Kyle was, he frosted everything over. Everything was sugar coated with his father - everything had a flip side. Living with Michale Taylor made everything so much more complicated, since Kyle was his only son, and he was expected to be the best of everything and everyone. Such expectations could drive people crazy - like Crabbe and Goyle, with their fathers, which Kyle found so very amusing. But not Kyle. Kyle had put up with it, and took everything with a grain of salt. He knew he would do what was expected of him, even if he didn't like it. The only thing he had problems with was the whole "carrying on the pureblood legacy" thing. He had to marry Aureila - his best friend, and current girlfriend. But really? Their whole relationship was a sham. Sure, their friendship was real, with ice chips and dead ends quite frequent, since they never told each other everything and could never be one hundred percent with each other at any given moment, but it was still more than they had with anyone else. He knew that for sure.
The air smelt of...he didn't know what to call it. It was a fresh smell, one that made a small smile come to his face - something very rare. Not a smirk, not a grimace - an actual smile. Rei would be proud. He rolled his eyes at the thought - could he go more than a few minutes without thinking about her? As much as he loved her, he was so confused when it came to her. They were best friends - they'd known each other ever since they could remember. They'd always been as close as people of their status could really get to each other. Then, they were boyfriend and girlfriend. They'd dated just a bit before his father had told him to ask her to be his girlfriend. Kyle hadn't liked it one bit, but Rei had been so enthusiastic in saying yes. That was where the awkwardness came in. He didn't like her as anything but a friend - but when he'd been the one to ask her to be his girlfriend, how could he say that? Plus, this was going to end up as an arranged marriage. It wasn't like he had any choice in the matter, no matter how much that pissedhim off. When it came to carrying on pureblood lines, parents didn't play around. That was a very serious matter, he knew. But if he was honest, he thought the whole thing was stupid. Who cared if you were a pureblood, halfblood, or muggleborn? He detested the word mudblood, too. Everyone had the same blood in his mind - it was all red, and it all ran in the veins under their skin. No matter how much that view differed so greatly from everyone's around him, he'd never change it.
Kyle stopped himself in his tracks when he spotted a girl outside. He knew the back of her head, even in the dim light. He'd seen her around before - he'd seen some of the muggleborn Slytherins around her, before. Slytherins could only really hang out with each other and the Ravenclaws, so he assumed that she was a Ravenclaw. He made his way over, now curious as to why there was someone but him outside at this time of the night - or would it be morning? He had no idea. He made his way over, looking at her as she looked up at the sky. His posture was stiff, as it always was, but more relaxed than it's usual overly-tense state. He shook his head slightly, now needing to really know exactly who this girl was. He didn't know why, but being in such a close proximity made him curious. Was she an insomniac? Why was she out here at night? Didn't she have better things to do? "I've never seen you out here this late." He said simply, using the sentence to catch her attention. "Couldn't sleep?" He asked. Now, all he had to do was wait for her to answer. He wondered what Aureila would think of him like this, talking to some random stranger that he was pretty sure was not a pureblood. She probably would've been ashamed of him "lowering his standards". Then again, he never knew with her, anymore. He stayed quiet, and waited for the Ravenclaw to speak.
