-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- It was a perfect day. The sun was shining, birds were chirping happily in the day's sky. And it wasn't too hot either, it was a perfect day to spend outside. Not to mention it was a Saturday, which left Andromeda and Nymphadora home by themselves. Without Ted, Meda never knew what to do on the weekends that Ted worked. It was very boring indeed. At first the two of them, Andromeda and Nymphadora, did everything they could think of at home. This included Andromeda cleaning up a little bit, baking with Nymphadora (they made cookies), playing games inside, playing games outside and playing dress up. And still, even after all that they were still bored. That's when it hit Andromeda that they needed to get out of the house for the day, just the two of them for some mother-daughter fun. It couldn't hurt right? But first, they were going to pay Ted a little surprise visit. It was a nice thought, Andromeda was missing her husband and little Dora hadn't had a chance to see her Daddy yet. The idea fresh in her mind Andromeda got their stuff together and through the fire they were off.
They wound up in the ministry of magic where they were greeted by a witch who promptly asked them their names, gave them buttons to pin onto their clothing and went to see Ted in his department. When they found him he looked rather busy and Andromeda felt bad to be bothering him at work. Yet she still managed to catch his attention, and he looked pleasantly happy to see them. He greeted her with a kiss and held their daughter, who told them everything they had done that day. Ted listened the entire time, his expression as if he was utterly fascinated by what he was hearing. Andromeda knew that he was just doing that for Nymphadora who always gave him recaps of their day that turned out entirely accurate. Sooner than Andromeda would have liked their visit was over and she was given back a crying three year old, who absolutely did not want to leave her daddy. Andromeda gave Ted a quick kiss goodbye and then they were gone to let him get back to his work again. It took a while while to calm Dora down who was repeatedly saying that she wanted her daddy. It was the promise of ice-cream from Diagon Alley that got her to stop.
The next fire place that Andromeda and Nymphdadora came out of was in The Leaky Cauldron, they were in Diagon Alley. Andromeda ran into an old friend from school to who she stopped to talk with for a bit. It was nice to catch up, they had so much to share. Andromeda's friend, Alexa, though Nymphadora was the cutest little girl. In school Alexa was the one friend who was pushing Andromeda towards Ted once she saw the attraction between them growing. That had been the one person Andromeda had told about their relationship and Alexa had nothing bad to say about it. Alexa was a half-blood herself and thought the pairing of the two was perfect. After the two were done talking Andromeda and Dora went out into the streets of Diagon Alley. Outside Andromeda put Nymphadora down to let her walk but still held her hand. Like always the three year old try to wiggle her way out but Meda wasn't letting go. If she did that then Dora would surely be the one to run off and get hurt. When it came to her child Meda took no risks since Dora was still so young, and Andromeda was still fairly new to this whole "mother" thing.
After realizing that her attempts to get away were pointless Dora stopped struggling and just walked along side her mother. It was nice, to just be able to walk out in the open and enjoy such a beautiful day. As they walked Andromeda listened to Nymphadora just rattle on about Merlin only knew what. She had lost track of the conversation early on but Meda still pretended like she knew what they were talking about. At the end of her story Dora stopped and said "Mummy, I though we were going to get ice-cream." looking mystified as to why they didn't have it already. Andromeda just laughed as some of her dark hair fell into her face. Not even bothering to push it away she started to tell her daughter "We will in a min-" but stopped as she caught sight of her sister, Bellatrix. The very older sister who she had spoken to in nearly five years. So she was alive then? Andromeda was actually shocked to see her out and about. After the stories she had heard over the last few years, she was surprised that the girl wasn't locked away in Azkaban.

from the dark i feel your lips bloody :: kisses and i taste your bloody kiss. ================
Bellatrix stood at the large bay window, looking down at her surroundings. It was beautiful today; she could tell. The grass outside seemed to sparkle with dewdrops, and there wasn't a cloud in sight. Perfect. Too perfect. Today was a Saturday, and the Dark Lord told Bellatrix to take this day off. For the whole week, she had been working on a new spell, and she was still not done. It took a couple of complicated wand movements and many incantations for the spell to work properly. The last time she tried it, her lab rat ended up dying slowly and painfully, and even though Bellatrix tried to revive him, nothing worked. ‘Well, it's not like I could have done anything. The spell was designed to kill, and kill it did. I just need to work out a few kinks, that's all,’ she thought, bringing a finger to her chin in a pondering movement. For the whole week, she had been slaving after it, only stopping to eat and sleep when she felt her body shutting down. Her hair probably looked a rat's nest, and she shuddered as she thought about how dirty she looked. Bellatrix had not bathed the entire week. ‘I'd better take a shower. I smell horrifying!’
After a long, excruciating shower, Bellatrix walked out of the bathroom, fresh and clean. She dressed quickly, putting on a black, flowing dress and similar black high heels, letting her dark hair flow down. She looked around for Rodolphus, realizing after a few moments that he was at the Death Eater meeting. Bellatrix would have been there as well, but the Dark Lord wanted her to take a break, and unfortunately, that meant no raids for her. No dark activities whatsoever. In fact, his suggestion was: “Ah, Bella! Take the weekend off from working. You've already spent too much of your free time on that spell of yours. Perhaps you could go to Diagon Alley? Do a little shopping? Some of my followers say Florean Fortescue sells great ice cream. I always liked pumpkin, myself.”
Sighing, Bellatrix wondered what she should do today. She was so used to devoting all of her time to the dark arts that she really had no idea what she should do without them. Diagon Alley. God, Bella hadn't been there since she was seventeen. Normally, she had people pick up supplies for her, as she was far too busy to get them herself. But, Diagon Alley did seem promising. Perhaps it would bring back that feeling of innocence, the feeling of childhood, that she lost such a long time ago. Or perhaps it would just bring back awful memories, and she would feel utterly nostalgic. Either way, Bella had made up her mind. To Diagon Alley!
Bella quickly walked over to the fire place in her bedroom, the one she shared with Rodolphus, and uttered the phrase that would get her to her childhood shopping spot. Well, not exactly. Bellatrix found herself at the Leaky Cauldron. She inhaled the familiar scent of alcohol and perfume, and nodded towards Tom, who looked extremely surprised to see her.
“Miss Bellatrix!” he cried. “Why, I haven't seen you since you were seventeen! What are you doing out and about?”
“Simply running errands, Tom.” Bellatrix answered curtly. If it weren't for her signature drawl and that somewhat enchanting tone of voice, Tom would have thought that it was her younger sister, Andromeda, speaking. But it wasn't. Actually, Tom remembered seeing Bella's younger sister just moments ago. But, he certainly wasn't going to tell Bellatrix that. He wasn't going to anger the woman, most definitely not today. Or any day.
Bellatrix smiled slightly at the barkeeper, before checking for any dust on her dress, and walking to the back of the Leaky Cauldron. She quickly tapped the combination of bricks with her wand (how is it that she remembered it after all these years?), and entered Diagon Alley.
Oh, Diagon Alley! It hadn't changed a bit. Witches and wizards were selling weird looking dark objects (Bellatrix recognized a few of them by now), and the streets were as crowded as she remembered them. It was relaxing, really. The Dark Lord was right. Perhaps she would get ice cream today. Smirking to herself, Bellatrix wandered the streets, scanning the crowd for any familiar faces. Nothing. She continued to wander, not really looking for anything specific. Then, she froze. Andromeda. She looked the same as always, and holding the hand of a little girl...Nymphadora? How was it that Bellatrix managed to run into her younger sister today of all days? The familiar heartbreak and longing crawled back into her heart, followed by anger and hatred, and Bella found herself staring at her younger sister. Then, something miraculous happened. Andromeda looked up and saw her, and their eyes locked - dark brown with clear blue. And Bellatrix, for once, was glad to see her.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --After all these years of not seeing nor hearing a word for her older sister, Andromeda could not believe that she was standing right there. Bellatrix looked exactly as she remembered, bold with the attractiveness of a Black. She had a blink several times just to make sure she was not just seeing things. After a while Andromeda was absolutely sure she was seeing her older sister, standing there frozen just as she was. Nymphadora was staring up her like she had lost her mind. The little girl tugged at her hand "Mummy," she whined "I want ice-cream." Ice-cream, right. Well that brought Andromeda back to reality.
They were discussing ice-cream before Meda saw her sister, of course. "In a minute darling, I want to walk for a while." She told the little girl who looked like she was ready to cry "But you pwomised mummy." she whimpered, bottom lip poked out. Andromeda sighed before she picked her daughter up "In a minute, Mummy just wants to see something." she told her, Dora looked at her with wonder filling her eyes. They had been to Diagon Alley many times and nothing about it had really changed. Nymphadora wasn't stupid, she knew something was going on.
Daughter at her hip Andromeda started to walk closer to where her sister was standing. She made sure that she had broken eye contact before walking. It was weird seeing her sister again. Both of them looked exactly the same as they had four years ago. Yet so much had changed. One was married and a mother. The other was married and a death eater. They were both definitely different even if they didn't look like it. Nymphadora, picking up on her mothers vibe, looked at Bellatrix trying to figure out what was going on. "Mummy, who's that lady?" she asked innocently, and she had Andromeda's focus once again. Andromeda hesitated before answering "She's my sister." in a voice barely above a whisper. All Dora said was "Oh," at first as if she didn't know what else she should say but she recovered quickly with "Can I hug your sister?" in total innocence. Andromeda shook her head very quickly at this, that would not be a good idea at all.
Hugging Bellatrix was probably the worst possible thing that Dora could have ever done. Andromeda loved her sister but didn't trust her as far as she could throw her. Something she learned after spending an entire childhood with her. Surprisingly enough Nymphadora did not question her mothers decision, which was a great surprise. It seemed like every "no" had a "why?" that followed it. It was rather annoying actually, one of the irritating things about having a child who could talk. Andromeda used this silence to keep walking, though she paced herself as she got closer to her sister. Once the two were in hearing range of each other Andromeda said "Afternoon Bellatrix." Loud enough to be heard perfectly. When she said this it was with an air that suggested they were comfortable with each other, rather than an air that suggested they had fallen out of contact. Andromeda had no idea how Bellatrix would react to her calm greeting, and she was sort of nervous to find out.

from the dark i feel your lips bloody :: kisses and i taste your bloody kiss. ================
Looking at Andromeda was like looking at another planet. It was so strange, so unearthly. Deep inside the recesses of her mind, Bellatrix knew that she was staring at her sister, but her eyes didn't want to acknowledge that fact. Yes, Andromeda looked almost exactly the same as she did that faithful day many years ago, but the fact that Nymphadora was there with her brought Bellatrix back to reality. Nymphadora looked nothing like her mother, nothing like a Black. In fact, she looked like an exact copy of Ted Tonks, with her lank brown hair and eyes. Seeing Nymphadora made Bellatrix realize that Andromeda was not the same person she knew, not the little girl Bella had loved. It made her wonder what she was doing, standing there, staring at just another person in a crowd. Yes. That was what Andromeda was: just another person. Nothing more.
But that person was her sister, whether Bellatrix wanted to admit it or not. Andromeda had changed, certainly. Her demeanor was very much kinder than it was four years ago, but she still had the attractiveness that came with being a Black. Perhaps the aura of superiority had never been given to her, but that? Yes. Andromeda was still as pretty as always, and seeing her pricked Bella's eyes. It brought back memories, memories Bella thought she had long ago buried and forgotten.
And she heard the whispered conversations between Nymphadora and her mother. The answer to Nymphadora's request almost made Bellatrix start bawling right on the spot. Was this what they had come to? Two sisters, approaching each other with caution, with a dangerous glint in their eyes? Have they grown so apart that an innocent request made by a child was refused?
Bellatrix watched Andromeda approach her cautiously, calmly, with her daughter at her hip. Bellatrix had never really liked children, especially half-blood children. The children of a mud-blood and a blood-traitor. But perhaps just once, just this one time, she would make an exception. For Andromeda. Perhaps today, they could act like sisters. Perhaps today, they could be sisters. Just this once. It would not change anything between them, but Bellatrix needed this. She needed her sister, just one last time. She needed closure. The last time Bellatrix saw Andromeda four years ago, she had been heartbroken. And Bella was not about to forgive Meda right now. Perhaps she would never forgive her. But for one day, she would be able to forget. Yes, she would fight just as ruthlessly when the day came, and their alliances would never change, but for a moment, Bellatrix could just sit back, relax, and unwind. Forget.
So much had changed between them, but not enough for them both to forget who they were standing next to. Soon, Andromeda came close enough to Bellatrix to be able to be heard clearly and loudly. “Afternoon, Bellatrix,” she said.
Bellatrix thought back to her previous thoughts. Just for today. So, because she knew she needed this, Bellatrix replied, most uncharacteristically, “Good afternoon, Andromeda.”

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Andromeda almost felt bad for telling Nymphadora no to hugging Bellatrix, who was her aunt after all. Almost. But it wasn't as if they could easily go back to how things used to be just like that. There was just too much pain in some of the memories from Andromeda's last year as a Black. She wanted to but there was this part of her that just could not let it go. Bellatrix hadn't been the only one hurt that morning four years ago. A part of Andromeda had died the moment that she left her sisters behind, a part of her that would forever remain with them. The request was entirely innocent, Nymphadora hadn't known any better, but Andromeda had grown up with Bellatrix. She knew her sisters dislike of children and a half-blood one? No Andromeda would not trust her sister around her daughter. She wanted to be able to trust her, but she was too protective a mother to do that.
You don't allow your child to play in a lions den. No matter how silly it sounded it was the truth. Allowing Nymphadora to even touch Bellatrix's arms was a risk Andromeda was unsure that she wanted to take. They were sisters and they always would be, whether Andromeda had been disowned or not, that was her blood. The same blood ran through the both of their veins. Sure, Andromeda did not possess the air of superiority that most of the Black's seemed to. But she still was one, if not by surname now then by blood. Mention of her name acquired a level of respect and it was often that Andromeda played on that. It was kind of comforting that she still got some respect, not that she demanded it. It just seemed to happen these days. Though, there was a day where Andromeda would have required others to respect her. Habit and to please her family, of course.
Gone was the time that Andromeda would command that someone respected her. Gone was the time she thought of others as below her. That girl had died a long time ago and personally she wanted her to stay gone. It was years ago and years ago it was going to stay, Andromeda never wanted to be the person who she had been again. Even if she was the gentler sister, she wasn't always as nice as she had come to be. Ted, and even the little girl in her arms, had changed her a lot over the years of being around each other. Andromeda had always been one of the more tolerable Black sisters, not as concerned with blood as either of her sisters. Not too interested in what others thought of her, or in making what their parents would consider respectful marriages. Andromeda had never wanted to marry for blood purposes so it didn't surprise her at all when that's how her life turned out.
She was happy to say the least. With or without her sister, Andromeda was truthfully living her life happily. She had her own family, her own life. A life separate from her sisters, and life where she wasn't constantly having to look over her shoulder and pray she wouldn't get caught sneaking around to be with the man she loved. It was a very liberating feeling. Sure, she would have loved to have her sisters as a part of it but that was a very unrealistic dream. No matter how unrealistic the dream it was very shocking that Bellatrix had answered her with a simple good afternoon. And there was no vindictiveness in her words. It was very shocking indeed. And considering who it was, very uncharacteristic. Not letting her surprise show Andromeda asked "How have you been?" Looking once more into her sisters eyes, hoping to find the Bellatrix she had remembered from their childhood.

from the dark i feel your lips bloody :: kisses and i taste your bloody kiss. ================ Bellatrix stared at Andromeda. She couldn't quite believe her ears. How has she been? It was a simple question, but certainly not very appropriate after four years of absence. There was a lot of things Bellatrix could have said when her sister asked that question, and there were many things she wanted to say, or scream, more like, but Bellatrix refrained.
She remembered, once more, that Andromeda was not her little sister anymore. Perhaps they were still related by blood, but according to Bellatrix, that was as far as it went. There was no closeness, no bonding, no love. They weren't sisters. In fact, Bellatrix thought of Andromeda as a distant family relation, so distant that Andromeda was not even worthy of Bella's time.
Truthfully, Bellatrix only thought that way because she was hurt. Deep, deep, deep inside, Bellatrix was heartbroken at Andromeda's betrayal. But while she would admit that to herself, she wouldn't admit that to anyone else. Especially not Andromeda.
Bellatrix was curious, mostly. What was Andromeda's life like? Bella knew nothing besides the pureblood ideals and that lifestyle, and while she was perfectly happy being molded into the amazing daughter and wife, she wanted to explore other options. Not that she would take them. It was just interesting to see how mud-bloods and half-bloods lived. Sure, she considered them filth, but perhaps their lifestyle was more comfortable. She sincerely doubted it, but she wanted to know, anyway. And what about Ted? Was Andromeda really happy with him? Happier than she was with her sisters?
Once again, the answer to her question resounded in Bellatrix's ears. ‘ Yes, she's happy. Happier. She loves him more than she loves us. She always did,’ Bella thought, inwardly scowling, but keeping her outward face expressionless.
Bella allowed a small smile to grace her features before she turned to the familiar face of her younger sister. “I missed you,” she murmured, mostly to herself. Then, louder, she proclaimed, “I've been fine, Andromeda. As fine as can be expected. Andromeda...did you love him? When you ran away? Did you love him?” Bellatrix said. She had to know. She had to have resolute proof before turning her back on Andromeda for good. And if she said no...well, perhaps they could do something about that.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Loving someone and being in love with them are two completely different things when you look at them like that. While Andromeda loved both of her sisters dearly, even to this day she was in love with Ted. That sort of feeling was stronger at times. It hadn’t changed at all over the years; well perhaps it strengthened with the birth of their child. But in her heart there was always a place for her biological family. For her sisters, at least, and then there was Sirius. Naturally she would have a place for her cousin as well. There would always be a place that they would remain. Them, and their life together when they were younger. Sure, those girls were not the same now but the memories would always remain. For her they would anyway, she doubted either Bellatrix or Narcissa even cared about them anymore. Andromeda knew perfectly well how the Black family worked and once you were disowned by them, well…that was it.
It was sad to say but the Black’s had done that a few times, the most recent being one of their uncles and that was merely because he had helped Sirius get his own place. Or so she had heard. Things like that got around, and even Andromeda had been close to that particular family member. Though, he hadn’t approved of her marriage to Ted. The Black’s were rather horrible when they wanted to be, and for Andromeda her least favorite family member had always been dear Aunt Walburga, who had undoubtedly blasted Andromeda off of the wall without feeling any remorse. The woman was truly cold to her and she was glad to be away from her. Still, out of all of them she wanted to have her sisters back but she wanted them to accept her family as well. It was entirely unrealistic for that would never happen, she knew that they would never accepted her marriage of the fact that she had a half-blood child who was one of the sweetest there could be.
Was it all worth it? Losing all contact with her sisters? Losing their respect and their love? Andromeda very briefly wondered. As she looked briefly down into the eyes of the little girl at her hip she had her answer, yes. It resounded loudly in her head, this little girl was her everything. While she did love her husband very much, Dora meant more to her than anyone did. So her answer to that would stay yes. She would not regret her decision; she refused to allow seeing her sister again have her even doubting the choices she had once been so sure of. Her lifestyle was rather comfortable as well. It was nothing like the large manor she had grown up in, the glamorous lifestyle of being a Black no longer existed for her. There were no meetings with other pure-blood families, no more elegant dinner parties. That was all traded in for a quaint little house just big enough for the family and perhaps a guest every once in a while. But it was theirs and it was home. She did miss the old lifestyle and a few of the old ways, she was perfectly comfortable now. Andromeda was happier now then she had been in a long time.
Andromeda was shocked at the smile one Bellatrix’s face, it almost suggested that nothing had changed. She wouldn’t have been at all surprised if it had been a forced one, that wouldn’t surprise Andromeda at all. At first Bellatrix murmured something that Andromeda hadn’t caught, she wished she had but it probably wasn’t meant for her to hear in the first place. Then Bellatrix had said “I've been fine, Andromeda. As fine as can be expected. Andromeda...did you love him? When you ran away? Did you love him?” and at first Andromeda was thrown off by the question. Why else would she have snuck around to be with him? Would she have sat up all night wondering if leaving would be the right thing to do? It was her love for him that gotten her what she had wanted for years before, a family of her own. A family loved unconditionally, and happiness, undeniable happiness. She took a breath before answering “Yes Bellatrix, I loved him. And I still love him,” looking directly at her sister while she said this “But I loved you and Narcissa as well. Leaving was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.” She was being completely honest with her. Of course there were probably harder things to have to do, but in this moment Andromeda had never been faced with a bigger challenge. Leaving had been hard but in the end, it was worth it.

from the dark i feel your lips bloody :: kisses and i taste your bloody kiss. ================ Bellatrix looked at Andromeda for a few moments, nodding her head slowly. She knew what the answer was even before Meda said it. Bella also knew that her younger sister did not regret her decision; she was certain of that. Yet, what Andromeda said next petrified Bellatrix, and surprised her, as well. Andromeda still loved her? After all this time? Even after all that Bella had done to others of Andromeda's kind?
And that was when Bella realized how different they truly were. Andromeda was the light in Bellatrix's darkness, the yin to Bella's yang. Together, they were a frozen flame : beautiful in contrast. But, when separated, Bella's flame would melt Andromeda's ice. And, even though Bellatrix had tried to keep it hidden, she now ken, despite all that had happened, that she still loved her younger sister. So very much.
It made her think about her relationship with Rodolphus. She loved him, certainly, but she found his affections for her a bit unnerving. He certainly seemed like he would do anything for her, but would she...? No. Bella wouldn't. Their relationship wasn't the most functional or even equal, and their feelings for each other weren't the comfortable adoration that Andromeda and Ted shared. Not to mention that while Bella loved her husband, she was also in love with another : Voldemort. And she knew that particular man (or a more appropriate term : snake creature, perhaps?) didn't feel the same.
Trying to prevent a sad sigh from escaping, Bella realized her relationship with Andromeda would never fully work out. They were on completely opposite sides of the spectrum : Andromeda working for the Order, and Bellatrix? For Voldemort. If she didn't love the man so much, perhaps she would've stopped. And looked back. Saw what kind of life she was doomed to lead before it even started. But Bella didn't stop, and she wouldn't, ever. She would keep on going. All for him.
Bellatrix did stop to look down at her sister, though. She never realized just how much taller Bella really was. Smiling once more, she stood up straighter, her spine completely erect. Bella would let all the heartbreak and hatred go. Because Bellatrix loved her sister, she would give her one last chance. “I missed you.” She said, loud and clear. There was no way Andromeda wouldn't hear her this time. And Bella wondered if she made the right choice, after all. ================ Roleplay By: Arbor and Lupita Tagged: Andromeda Tonks OOC Notes: Agh, I might be posting irregularly now. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- A bond between sisters was not one that could easily be broken. Not only after four years of being away. And definitely not after having spent an entire childhood with those same sisters. Sure, sisters always went on to live their own lives and at times parted ways. Even though Andromeda sometimes liked being away from her sisters, there was always that part of her that called out to them. That same something inside her that hurt seeing her sister after all this time. Andromeda wasn't about to admit it but this was painful, just seeing her hurt like hell. Almost as much as the night her mother tried to forbid her seeing Ted. It was like she had been punched in the stomach. Yet, like that night that Bellatrix shared her knowledge about Andromeda and Ted, she felt the dropping feeling in her stomach but did not show it. She could not show that, not now.
As different as they may have been, and they were definitely as different as day and night, Andromeda and Bellatrix would always be sisters. If not always by heart by blood would just have to do. She was unsure about Bellatrix's marriage to Rodolphus but Andromeda wasn't exactly ecstatic about it, though that was just because it was practically for blood status reasons. What she was sure about was her own marriage to Ted, she was happy and they both really did adore each other. Andromeda was one-hundred percent sure that she was in love with Ted. The past four years and the three year old on her hip was sure proof of that. Life had done Andromeda very good so far. Andromeda was also very aware of the path that her sister had chosen and to Andromeda it could mean danger for her and her family.
Never before had Andromeda felt so strongly the desire to just reach out and hug her sister. Just to recreate those memories and the sisterly love that had once been there between the two of them. The longing grew more when Bellatrix, surprisingly said "I missed you." Which was certainly not what Andromeda had expected from her older sister. What she had expected was yelling, and anger but she got none of that. And Andromeda knew that with her how her family thought and functioned, to them she deserved it and so much worse. Yet none of that had come, had Bellatrix grown as a person as well? Andromeda truthfully wondered this about her sister. But the stories that Meda had been hearing didn't make it seem like that was the case.
"I've missed you Bellatrix," She said truthfully, using the nickname that Bellatrix had gotten at a young age. Andromeda really did miss her sister, both of her sisters. Life was always harder without someone else you loved to look in and enjoy it from the outside. Just then a slight tugging at her hair brought Andromeda back to the little girl she was holding "Yes?" She asked, looking directly at her daughter now who was oddly to her, staring at Bellatrix. "Mummy, who is she?" Dora had asked, putting emphasis on the word her, it was plain that Nymphadora had temporarily become fascinated by Bellatrix. Andromeda didn't know what to tell her, she wanted to say her aunt. Yes, by blood Dora was Bellatrix's niece but she had never been in her life. It seemed rather inappropriate to Andromeda "She's my sister. Her name is Bellatrix." she told her, unsure of what else she was supposed to tell her. Then she looked at her sister and said "Bellatrix, meet my daughter, her name is Nymphadora." not sure how her sister was going to take the idea of having a half-blood child for her niece.

from the dark i feel your lips bloody :: kisses and i taste your bloody kiss. ================ Oh dear God. Bellatrix wasn't ever going to admit this, to anyone, but just hearing her little sister say she missed her, as well, melted a bit of the ice Bellatrix was known for. She actually allowed herself to grin. Bella never grinned; she was known for her sultry smirks or small, satisfied smiles. Not full blown grins. Even if she was that happy, Bellatrix never really showed her outward emotions. It was hard for her to trust people, but she trusted Andromeda. She probably shouldn't have, but Bella did. They were sisters, after all.
It was strange how simply a moment, one special moment, could renew a relationship. Just one day ago, Bellatrix was ready to kill Andromeda. Now, she was about ready to hug her and burst into tears. Not that she would ever do that. Granted, it had been almost five years. At that fact, Bella really DID want to start crying. Had it really been that long? Andromeda was, by blood, at the very least, her sister. How could that have grown that apart?
She tried to overlook the fact that Meda had married a mud-blood, that she had run away and joined the Order. Yes, Bellatrix knew where her allegiances lay. When the final battle arrived, would Andromeda fight against Bellatrix, against her beloved Dark Lord? Yes, Andromeda would. And would Bellatrix fight back? Yes. The answer was a firm yes. Bellatrix loved her sister; there was no denying that now, but the loyalty she felt to Lord Voldemort was something of a different degree. Bella never regretted her decision to join the Death Eaters, and she would fight for them, no matter what. Would she harm Andromeda if she had to? Perhaps after this encounter, she wouldn't. It would be like harming Narcissa; she simply wouldn't be able to do that. Perhaps if she simply Stupified her during the battle, so she wouldn't get hurt...
She was contemplating her battle tactics when a child's voice brought her back to reality. That voice sounded just like little Andromeda; it was like a melody. But then Bellatrix turned her head and turned to face her niece full on. What was she doing? This was a half-blood, a mud-blood's child! Her sister's child, as well. And she seemed nice enough. What was happening? Bellatrix would have spat on the ground the little girl walked on simply moments ago! What had changed so drastically in that space of time? ‘I got my sister back,’ she realized, and that was it.
Bellatrix only caught the last part of Andromeda's conversation. Stunned, Bellatrix took a step back. Well, perhaps she could look at Nymphadora, but would she really have to speak to her? Introduce herself? This was a half-blood! ‘Andromeda's child...’ Bella's mind taunted her. What was she to do?
The good in her won out. “Hello, Nymphadora,” Bellatrix said, her tone of voice almost warm. It was so unlike the tone of voice she used to talk to most half-bloods, and it was unlike her dueling voice, her seductive voice...her everyday voice, really. This was the voice Bellatrix used when she was happy. What on earth? Was she really happy to see a half-blood, to see a blood traitor? Well, perhaps for today, she would be able to let go of her purist ideals. Just for today. Was that going to become her anthem? Hah. Perhaps just for today. ================ Roleplay By: Arbor and Lupita Tagged: Andromeda Tonks OOC Notes: I finally finished it! I actually really like this post. It shows Bella's emotions. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Seeing her sister again, after not even catching a glimpse of her for so long, was going to be hard later on, and Meda knew it. She couldn’t see someone who had at one time meant so much to her and then go on pretending like they never existed. Before all of this began she had tried that with Ted, but someone the Hufflepuff boy kept on drawing her in until…they were married. But with Bellatrix was different, this was her sister standing there, bright as day. She had said she missed her and Andromeda believed that in her own way, Bellatrix did miss her. After all, seventeen years together could not be easily done away with. Andromeda certainly missed her, she missed her sisters dearly. When they were young they would play together, pretending that they were princesses and such other things. It was improper for young children to be out and the sisters were often left in the care of the house elves when their parents had parties and such. They were each others completion; each sister had made up one third of the others.
Yes they were best friends then but that had all started to slowly change once Bellatrix had gone to Hogwarts, Andromeda not long after her and then finally Narcissa. The three definitely had remained close through school but they all started to become their own people, seeing less and less of each other. Looking back on those days Andromeda wished they would come back; it took every bit of strength in her not to cry that very moment. She had definitely missed the talks and late nights spent with Bellatrix. They always said that blood was thicker than water but was it really? Water could easily dilute blood, wash it away completely. Taint it. Water was definitely stronger than blood, and for Meda her water had always been Ted. Her being in love with him had definitely come out stronger than her love for her sisters. There were days where that knowledge made Andromeda feel as if she was some sort of monster for leaving like she did, but again the completeness of her life now erased all of those negative feelings. Yet, the pain that Andromeda knew she caused her family, caused her sisters, had been haunting her to the day. She had never meant to hurt them but she needed to do something that was good for her, just once. And Ted was giving her everything she wanted. She was in loved with the man she married; they had a great life that gave them the beautiful little girl at her hip now. There was no way she could regret anything that had come to be, despite how her older and younger sisters felt about her.
To Andromeda the sound of her daughter’s voice was like music to her ears, but maybe that was just because this was the little girl whom she had given birth to and had loved before she was even born. A mother would most always love their child and think the highest of them. There was a melodic feel to it and everyone often said that Dora would have her mother’s voice as she got older, Andromeda never saw that. Nymphadora’s voice was just too pure. It was truthfully the voice of a small, innocent child. Meda saw her sister look at Dora and smiled, hoping that she would accept her only niece…if only for a little while. Andromeda knew that Bellatrix had never met the little girl before, and probably wouldn’t ever be this close to her again, but she wanted her daughter to get at least a small sense of her own blood. Dora had definitely gotten to know Ted’s side of the family, who thought that Nymphadora was a cute little girl with a funny sounding name and interesting hair. It made her happy that they accepted her and loved her just as bit as they did but Andromeda wanted to expose her to at least some of the Blacks, just not their traditions or beliefs.
Bellatrix’s tone surprised Andromeda as she had expected a venomous response or for her to ignore the young girl completely. But no, she had simply “Hello, Nymphadora,” it was the voice that Bella had once used when she would talk to her all those years ago, it was a voice she had greatly missed but could not admit missing for it would only make things harder later on. “Say Hello to Bellatrix, Dora, be polite.” Andromeda told her daughter encouragingly yet gently at the same time, it was one trait that she had learned on her own, her mother only used a gentle voice with her when they were in public growing up. Politeness was always one of Andromeda’s strong suites and she wanted to instill that moral in her daughter indefinitely. It was odd, remembering things about childhood and it not hurting, perhaps that was simply because one of the most important factors in her childhood was standing right there in front of her.
