The night had started off calm, nothing out of the ordinary had happened so far. Ted had to work late but that was known to happen from time to time. Nymphadora had been running around all day, they ate supper, and got ready for bed. The mother and daughter duo were drinking milk and reading bedtime stories before little Nymphadora had to go get in bed, it was getting to that time where all three year olds should have been fast asleep. Besides, Andromeda needed her nightly "mommy time" which usually occurred once the little one was fast asleep. What should have been a regular night suddenly went bad. Not minor, Andromeda could fix it with a simple wave of her wand - bad. More like there would be a trip to St. Mungo's - bad. That was certainly not something that Andromeda had on her agenda for this particular day. But things didn't always go as planned, sometimes things had to go wrong in order to go right. If that made any sense.
The unfortunate event of this particular evening happened most unexpectedly. Andromeda had just finished reading her daughter a story before letting the little girl play a bit longer. She was getting into her own book as Nymphadora ran off from the sitting room, Andromeda thought she had simply gone to her own bedroom so she wasn't too worried about it. Meda didn't think much on where her daughter was until there was a loud BANG! that erupted from somewhere in the house. Automatically Andromeda jumped up from her chair and made to grab her wand, but it wasn't there. She could have sworn she had it in the room with her. Then it hit her that it had been left on her nightstand, within Nymphadora's reach. Realizing this Andromeda ran from the sitting room to her bedroom in record time. Coming upon her room she saw the smoke and then her daughter lying on the floor - unconscious. Coming out from her rear end was unmistakeably, a tail.
It wasn't a normal furry tail but more of a green, almost slimy looking one. It was not a pretty sight but it wasn't the tail that Andromeda was worried about, she was more concerned that her three year old daughter was out cold on the floor. "Merlin, please let her be alive." she muttered, mostly to herself...checking to make sure her daughter was, in fact, living. Nymphadora was breathing which was always a really good sign. Out of her mind Andromeda knew that she could have gotten rid of the disgusting tail that was growing from her daughter. Her unconsciousness was going to be harder to restore. No, she was going to leave that to healers for she had no idea what her daughter had done to begin with. In a swift second Andromeda scooped her daughter up into her arms and very carefully disapparated with a 'pop' then appeared in front of St. Mungo's. Andromeda hated to disapparate when she had her little one with her but she really wasn't in the mood to mess with the fire at the moment. Disapparition was the easiest and quickest option for Andromeda at that very moment, so she took it.
Andromeda walked rather quickly into the hospital and went straight for the elevator, which would take her to the proper floor. Once she got the two floors up Andromeda hopped out and took her daughter, still out, to the waiting room. There she talked to the reception witch rather quickly who said they would be taken to a room immediately. And immediately it happened. Once they had gotten to the room they needed to be in, Andromeda laid her daughter on one of the beds and waited for the healer to come in. While waiting Andromeda saw one of Ted's work buddies who came in wondering why she was doing there and what had happened to Nymphadora "She was playing with my wand," Andromeda explained, plainly yet truthfully.
Numerous times Andromeda had told Dora not to play with hers or Teds wand, and she chose tonight not to listen. And look at what happened. Impressed and surprised, Andromeda found herself being relatively calm and collected about this whole ordeal. Normally she would have been stressed out and on edge but tonight she wasn't. Perhaps it was because she was so tired that she could have been so calm at this moment. Was her body really that worn out that she was unable to get worked up? The answer was yes. Now that Andromeda looked around she realized she must have looked rather out of place. Everyone else around was all neat and tidy. But here she stood: hair disheveled and in her night clothes. It was obvious that she had been preparing for bed. Just as Ted's friend turned to leave Andromeda told him "If you see my husband please tell him we're here and what's happened. Oh, and tell him what room we're in." an almost pleading look on her face, she was sure her husband would want to know what was going on with his only child. Ted's friend told her that he would and then went back to work again, leaving Andromeda to wait for someone to come on in and held with her daughter.
