OVERALL PERSONALITY: Gilderoy Aaron Lockhart is seen as a daring young wizard with strikingly good looks and just the right touch of charisma. He seems to be like that “Knight in Shining Armor” in fairy tales, with girls fawning over him as if he were the only righteous man in the wizarding world. However, surprised as those girls may be when they find out, Gilderoy doesn’t really care much for those of female gender. Or those of male gender, either. In fact, the only thing that he seems to care for is himself.
Gilderoy is an amazing liar. He pretends to be a lot of things, and does it with grace and majesty. He learned this when he was a boy, and sometimes people never let go of things. Gilderoy doesn’t really understand that lying is wrong, however, probably because his mother never took the time to say “honesty is the best policy”. And most of the time, honesty really isn’t the best policy, because once he writes his first book (he has all the details filled out), there really is no way he can be honest. Unless he lies, of course, which wouldn’t be honest after all.
Normally, people have at least a couple of interests. Gilderoy Lockhart, however, is an exception. The only thing that truly interests him is really, himself. Gilderoy, as a young boy, was never particularly in anything. He is on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, but even that isn’t really much of a hobby. He is a Seeker, but his eyes don’t really bother glancing at that horrid golden ball. Instead, they try to glance at his golden hair. Gilderoy enjoys looking at himself, and although it seems strange, he is in fact, infatuated with everything that has to do with himself alone. Normally, when Gilderoy wakes up, he does not think, “I wonder who You-Know-Who is going to torture today.” He thinks, “Should I wear lilac or magenta today? Oh well, what does it matter? I’m gorgeous anyway.” Although that statement may be true, Gilderoy takes pleasure in admitting it to himself. After all, in a world full of idiots, the most idiotic has to be the one who puts himself over others.
Speaking of stupidity, Gilderoy is not one of the brightest light bulbs in the closet. He was never known for his wit and cleverness, and although he does use a lot of adjectives in the written word, Gilderoy was never a star pupil. He is not an idiot, per say, but he is definitely not a genius, and this causes him to make decisions that would be considered rash or moronic to most. He doesn’t thoroughly think things through almost all of the time, and his ideas and actions are always based on some deep, narcissistic thought hidden inside what is left of Gilderoy’s brain. Although Lockhart sounds very proper and presidential when uttering one of his phrases about harmony, what he has going on in his mind doesn’t sound very proper at all. He simply is not a sharp crayon, and there’s not quite a lot you can say about that.
Gilderoy tries to prove to people that he is kinder than anyone else. Although he really isn’t all that nice and charitable, Gilderoy sounds like an utter goodie-two-shoes because he makes himself sound almost heavenly. He really isn’t a mean soul, but he isn’t as angelic as he makes himself sound. You can tell when he slips up and says the meanest things, but he doesn’t do that often. Lockhart has forced himself to restrain saying anything that might ruin his reputation as “such a nice boy”.
There really isn’t any way to sum a person like Gilderoy up; he is what he is (and he is divine, of course), and as for the rest of us, we’ll have to deal with him, and the rest of the Gilderoys in the world.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION: Gilderoy stands tall and willowy, with his shoulders straight, and an award-winning smile plastered onto his face. Gilderoy always has proper posture and that makes him look abnormally tall, even though he really isn't all that giant. However, if there is one word to describe Lockhart, it wouldn't be "tall", it would be "divine". Gilderoy looks almost god-like, as would be expected. Even the young wizard himself admits he looks like he fell from heaven. After all, those long hours staring in the mirror have got to mean something. Either he's hideously ugly, or he's exceptionally beautiful. And to give you a hint: it most definitely isn't the former.
As a younger boy, Gilderoy's hair was almost the exact shade of a dandelion. It was puffy and almost white, making it blend into his already fair skin. As the years went by, however, his hair darkened, becoming a shining golden color. "In ancient Egyptian times," he joked (quite stupidly), "I would be buried along with the pharaoh!" However, perhaps the pharaoh would have wanted not only Gilderoy's hair to keep with him in the afterlife, but the rest of his body, too. Michelangelo would be amazed if he saw Lockhart, for he is almost a living icon of his David. One of Gilderoy's more piercing traits is his eyes, which are a light sky blue, about the same color as a forget-me-not flower. They seem to shine more than his hair does, and that is quite an achievement, considering his hair almost pierces you when you walk in.
The thing that really hurts your eyes is Gilderoy's teeth, however. They seem unnaturally white, as if somebody operated on them, or as if they are bleached. They shine with such enthusiasm, and all of his teeth are neatly arranged in rows, like piano keys. Surrounded by his teeth are pink, full lips: bow-tie shaped and luscious, due to an extra coating of cherry chap-stick every morning and evening. One thing that is barely visible, for really you don't pay attention to anything else around you if you're staring into Gilderoy's forget-me-not eyes, is his body structure. Gilderoy has what Muggles would call a "six-pack", but he is also somewhat thin. Although this does not detract at all from the overall charm of Mr. Lockhart, he does look a bit malnourished, as if he desperately needs to be fed. But really, who has time to eat with such beauty and charm as Gilderoy?
Lockhart wears a variety of robes every day, his most famous being the one matching his eyes, a beautiful forget-me-not blue. He also wears robes the colors of lavender, lilac, turquoise, mauve, lurid pink, deep plum, jade green, and midnight blue. All of them are long and flowing, with long sleeves and intricate designs on the front. They all make quite an impression, but of course, none are anything like Gilderoy himself! Because what could match a stroke of pure, unadulterated genius?

Mother: Elizabeta Joan Lockhart, nee Kennington: A Muggle woman whose beauty is almost as remarkable as her son's. Currently lives in the English countryside, lavishly spending her late husband's money on cigarettes and fancy gowns. Gilderoy never got on with his mother, but they were fine with one another. She was never a mother to him, really: more like a distant aunt.[/ul]

OVERALL HISTORY: Ah, how to begin a forbidden love tale? Let us start from the beginning, shall we? Elizabeta Joan Kennington was a woman of great beauty and great wits. She could not see Dementors, and was not trained in the magical arts, but she did have something strange and somewhat intoxicating about her. However, she was a stubborn woman, and did not agree on many things. However, that all changed when she met Thomas Lockhart. He was a man, about five years her elder, and just as stubborn as she was, except he was a wizard. The probability of being married to a rich wizard was so strange to Elizabeta that in just two months, the couple got engaged, and in a month, married.
Here, our charming Gilderoy came into play. 1 ½ years after their marriage, Elizabeta gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, whom she named Gilderoy, after her great-grandfather. Gilderoy was a strange boy growing up. He was not like the other small children, for he did not like playing with the balls or with the shiny trains he was given. At first, both of his parents contributed to their son’s welfare. They tried to teach him everything they knew, but Gilderoy couldn’t understand any of it. Eventually, Elizabeta, being who she was, gave up on her son, and normally acted like an aunt instead of a mother.
Gilderoy practically had to teach himself. He did not like being around other children, for he thought them unworthy of his presence. Admittedly, during that time, Gilderoy was not very handsome or charming, so he was not very well liked even if he had tried to talk to other kids his age. Neither did he try to develop his magic, because his father kept him from the magical world, saying it was for his own good. Of course, Gilderoy knew about it, but he daren’t go against his father’s wishes, for his father was a powerful man, and at six years old, everyone was afraid of their father.
Gilderoy really wasn’t anything special until eleven years old, when his Hogwarts letter came. He was a scrawny child, and he had a somewhat dorky appearance, along with a penchant for staring endlessly in the mirror. During his first year at Hogwarts, Gilderoy mainly kept to himself, and he got teased quite a bit. He wasn’t very popular, and became traumatized when so many people insulted him for his scrawniness and “girly attributes”. He also was a poor student, not focusing on his academic studies, even though he got sorted into Ravenclaw. Gilderoy didn’t pay attention to much back in his younger years, for what did anyone really have to pay attention to, back then?
Gilderoy didn’t really come into his own until about his fourth year at Hogwarts. At fourteen years of age, his hair had darkened and his figure and charm came into play. Gilderoy was able to sweet-talk most of the teachers into sliding by with at least an Acceptable on his exams. By that time, most of the female students (and admittedly, teachers as well) were swooning whenever they saw him, and he wasn’t teased anymore. That was when his egotism came into play, because before he had nothing to be very happy about. Gilderoy also got a spot on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, as Seeker, and while he wasn't very good at the position, he certainly was very good eye candy. During his fourth year, everything came into place and Gilderoy was happy.
However, things took a turn for the worse towards the end of that very year. In the middle of the night, Professor McGonagall ordered him down to the Headmaster’s office for some devastating news. His father had died, and now his mother had
Gilderoy bought himself a cottage, using the money he inherited from his father, and lived in Hogsmeade the summer before his sixth year. Gilderoy spent the whole summer doing absolutely nothing and fawning over himself: just the way he liked things. When he got to Hogwarts, things were the same as they were the year before; Gilderoy got away with things simply because he was handsome, and managed to pass all of his O.W.L.'s (barely, but he passed).
Gilderoy first got wind of the war the summer before his sixth year. A wizarding family was killed, and Gilderoy was scared to death. Lord Voldemort? What a cruel, evil name. Perfect for such an evil creature! Gilderoy, being a cowardly person, did not care for Voldemort one bit. So, now, Gilderoy's mission? Develop world peace. Because, hell, if someone deserves it, it would be Gilderoy!
After all, someone so brilliant, so talented, so simply awe-inspiring deserves the world, and we should grovel at his feet. Because he's worth it.
